Introduction:

Kendo 剣道, the sword way, is one of the most traditional and noble martial arts of Japan. Originally a method of using a sword in combat, Kendo is nowadays a physical activity and a modern sport. It aims at the development of a healthy body and mind through a highly disciplined practice based on codes of physical action and personal attitude. These have been transmitted through ages in an unbroken tradition. |
