【Sports Activities】: UM Staff – 2024 Summer Korfball Parent-Child Class
What is Korfball?
Korfball, like most team sports, is a two-sided pitching activity. It looks like basketball but without backboard, and the biggest difference is that korfball is a mixed sport with 4 male and 4 female on each side, both offensive and defensive, with the intention of promoting equality between male and female. There is no physical collision in the game, which promotes mutual respect, assistance and cooperation. The game is to put the ball into the basket in the offensive zone to score and players are not allowed to run or dribble with the ball. If the ball is obtained in the defensive zone, the ball must be passed to a player in the offensive zone.
Since the defensive rules of korfball are different from other ball games, especially the lack of physical collisions, children are less likely to be injured and can cultivate their cooperative spirit.

Introduction of Korfball
The Office of Sports Affairs (OSA) will organize a parent-child korfball experience class and interest classes during summer. UM Staff are welcome to register and try korfball with their children, enjoy parent-child fun together!
