Traditional crafts and culture of Macao lion dancing
The “Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Si San Kit Yee Tong — Lion Dance Exhibition” is co-organized by the Office of Sports Affairs and the Associação Desportiva “Ou Kong Si San Kit Yee Tong” de Artes Marciais Chinesas. Over thirty exquisite and unique embroidered lion dance heads (some with tails) made by lion head making masters are showcased in the University of Macau to celebrate its 100th anniversary of founding. It is presented as an opportunity for the second generation and visitors to learn more about traditional Chinese culture and the meaning of lion dancing, and to strengthen their bonds with their family’s city of origin — China and Macao SAR. The exhibition will be held from 7 April to 22 May 2022 at the ground floor of UM Sports Complex (N8). The venue is open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and entry is free of charge.
